BACK TO SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS
We started our year by getting kids from Chicago and the western suburbs ready for the upcoming school year with the Straight Hoopin Back to School Basketball Tournament. The tournament took place on Sunday August 19th with school starting the following Monday. The tournament was held at the legendary St. Joesph High School in Westchester, IL.​
Dreamchasers partnered with Straight Hoopin for this tournament to give over 60 young men exclusive athletic merchandise and to gain exposure for a black-owned small business.

Along with the Straight Hoopin merchandise, each participating child received a bag of school supplies including pens, pencils, folders, and notebooks.
The young men played extremely hard and showed great sportsmanship throughout the event. Creating a great atmosphere to facilitate the lessons of hard-work and teamwork while also emphasizing the importance of education.
We kicked off the 2015-2016 school year with the Dreamchasers United Back to School 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. The tournament took place at the Dodge Morton Campus at 431 N Troy in East Garfield Park on Saturday, September 19th.
The event started with guest speaker, Officer Edwards of the Chicago Police Department, addressing the young men on many issues they face in their communities. As a Marshall High School graduate and former collegiate athlete, Officer Edwards was able to relate to the young men and give them encouragement and direction throughout his speech.
Thanks to Alderman Walter Burnett and the Sigma Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Dreamchasers United NFP was able gave away over 40 book bags filled with school supplies to students at DMC during the event.
As always the young men had a great time filled with competition, sportsmanship and education.
